Shore excursions Natural Wonders of Greenland 1

  • General Information Shore Excursions Please note that you can only book one shore excursion per port of call. In some ports, it is possible to book more than one excursion (max 2). We have marked tours that can be combined with a star (*). We ask you to indicate your first choice of excursions with an A, in case local conditions do not allow two activities.
    • Quality of the bus

The buses in Greenland are operated in extreme weather conditions and are very heavy- giving them a different look. Dust that enters the buses while driving on gravel tracks can’t be avoided. Toilets are not available on the buses. There are no typical buses in Greenland, therefore school buses, city buses or off-road buses are used for our excursions. You can leave your backpacks or extra clothing on the bus during tours – they are locked at every stop.

    • Language

All shore excursions organized by Iceland ProCruises take place in English.
However, there might be a bilingual excursion (in German and English). All our guides are experienced and very knowledgeable about the country and people.

    • Itinerary

Strong winds, snow or even rain can affect our excursions. Although we always try to stick to the published itinerary, the route and stops can change depending on the weather and road conditions. Sometimes parts of a road or even an entire road are blocked. We reserve the right to make changes.

    • Zodiac transfer

In some ports, the SEAVENTURE will not be at the pier but on anchorage. In those cases you will be shuttled ashore with our own zodiacs.

    • Flights and Boat Trips

The weather in Greenland is very unpredictable. Please note that flights and boats are particularly weather dependent on wind, ice and sea conditions. Cancellations are also frequent, as the helicopter/plane/boat is needed for other transportation reasons or for rescue and emergency, if those are the only ones available in this area. There is a risk that we have to move around the timetable or cancel all the planned tours if there are changes. Please note that during the excursions, there won’t be detailed explanations as the captains and pilots are not guides. For flight bookings please identify your weight in the shore excursion booking form as the weight limit is 265 lbs per person. If you weigh more than 265 lbs and want to participate, you need to buy two seats.

    • Changes/Cancellations through Iceland ProCruises GmbH / Min/Max

Due to weather and sea conditions, the number of participants, or cancellation by local service providers, Iceland ProCruises GmbH reserves the right to change the prices, duration and content of the excursions or even cancel them. Please note that the order of sights may vary from the following descriptions due to high traffic volumes or other organizational reasons.
